Can’t lie…This one got me. I thought this was the official Buccaneers account for about 30 seconds.

Enough to get excited about the possible helmet rule change that would allow the BUCS to have throwback games once again.

After frantically searching for additional sources to confirm what I saw, I realized that was a fan account that had taken the Buccaneers’ official account and mimicked the look.

Now, I wanna chokeslam this lil’ bastard like Kane circa 1997.

More followers.

More loyalists.

More experts.

“Slant-boy” still gettin’ killed.

Next season’s match-ups are gonna be so damn chippy.

I can hardly wait.

Early season doubts and struggles didn’t stop this cat from shining in the Playoffs.

And it’s SO easy to forget this this was just year 2 for the young fella.

The BUCS could still draft another CB that could push him for the full-time CB2 spot.

But, SMB’s resiliency was damn impressive to end the season.

If you’re anything like me, you can’t stand to watch these guys jump on tv and pretend to know everything about every situation every single day for more than 90secs.

These cats will say damn near anything to get attention and have something to talk about.

All the narratives surrounding Tom Brady that got parroted NEVER made any sense if you watched any of the happenings over the last 3 years in New England. And you didn’t even need to be a fan of the team either.

Their success or failure was highlighted EVERY DAMN WEEK.

Archo is just one of many former players that get called upon to parade and falsify their existence in the NFL as expertise.

I’m glad people are keeping those receipts.

There are 16 more days until the 2021 NFL season officially kicks off .

Keep on dancing.

Keep on celebrating the SUPER BOWL year that was 2020..

Flag On The Post: Super Bowl- Bound

And that’ll do it. Super Bowl-bound!

That picture is more symbolic than most will recognize.

The image of Buccaneers defense taking down a supposedly unstoppable offensive player.

A great headline.

Not exactly the story though.

Dickey V could be the mascot for any team.

This cat is genuinely into the BUCS. And super opinionated. Right or wrong.

And has been every season.

He doesn’t just pop up when things are good.

Unlike some former players.

One of the dopest images from the NFC Title Game.

All these damn onion in here….

Seriously….who the f*%# is in charge of the onions in here??

We understand.

Not bad for the “wOrSt tAcKLe in ThE NfL”.

3 in a row on the road.

And the last visiting stadium being the most iconic in the League.

It seems like a fairytale.

But ending the journey in victory at Raymond James Stadium would be an all-time classic ending to the season.

The kind that could cap off a career……….

There’s something in the air.

Put your money on the Raptors while nobody’s looking.

This unit has been super impressive.

“That’s what she said.”-—-Michael Scott

These here receipts are something else.

Got ‘em.

When it comes to the BUCS, the temporary/visiting fans are always the most vocal.

Funny enough, that’s how it’s been at the stadium for a while.

While I can’t blame anyone for having a favourite player and following his career, I do find it damn near repulsive to claim “adopting” the fandom of those who followed the Team long before.

I spoke to Hall Of Fame Buccaneers fan Big Nasty about the temporary fans coming about aboard on the podcast last year….”Come As You Are”.

He said it best. “Don’t be a jump-ship-chump.”

Win or lose, don’t go blaming everyone BUT you’re favourite player.

And don’t go thinking YOUR guy is what makes the Team go and nothing else.

This is probably the worst/best thing I’ve seen all season.

I actually hate that I saw it because it now stuck in my head. But, I also love that I can share it to some unexpected soul like an evil jack-in-the-box.

giphy-2.gif

These fools will type anything to get a reaction.

“Lookin' like straight Bozos…”—-ICE CUBE

Some of those cats got their cheese up in a curd over that flag that had to come from 15 yards down field and into the frame on television.

The hold was egregious and obvious.

Johnson could’ve pressed assault charges after that fella tried to undress him like that.

Screen Shot 2021-01-25 at 7.41.53 AM.png

The dilemma.

There were definitely a lot of BUCS fans that couldn’t stand the thought of Tom Brady prior to his joining the Team.

Lots of them claimed he had referees in his back pocket.

The same ones also looked at the referees to blame in damn near every BUCS loss ever.

So, there’s that.

Much like “The Office”, it’s just hard to go wrong with a “Simpsons” meme.

Tee-hee

Grade A analysis by this here drunken cheesehead.

EA Sports is definitely the wrong tool to use when scouting opponents.

It’s a few steps behind PFF “grades”.

Screen Shot 2021-01-25 at 12.27.08 PM.png

Riiiiiiiiiiight.

Don’t let these clowns back on the bandwagon.

Change the channel.

Oh, it’s true. It’s damn true.

The love/obsession with the QB position will have people making all kinds of caveats and loopholes and mental gymnastic reps until their last breath.

It’s hilarious.

For the record, if this is your first time here, there are no punches pulled for fan favourites. When they look bad, it’s pointed out. And this was the case with that walking liability at QB the previous 5 years. The writing was on the wall back in 2017 and fellow BUCS fans/followers hated me and all the facts that pointed to it….Here, Here, and Here.

Screen Shot 2021-01-25 at 8.42.39 AM.png

These people exist. They are dangerous to themselves and others.

Approach with caution.

Facts won’t stop them. That will only enrage them.

Some people will believe anything they can think up.

Right on!

#Gravediggers

Straight killers on the low.

Know ‘bout it.

I’ll never forget just how much McCoy and David did together in Tampa on the way to this Super Bowl appearance.

Two top 5 players at their position and they didn’t get into the playoffs.

And both true franchise players on and off the field.

I wish they could’ve experienced this run together on the field.

It’s true.

Screen Shot 2021-01-25 at 8.46.07 AM.png

Tell him “ Todd Bowles and that damn Defense.”

That damn SMB still trailing just a lil’. But he made it count.

Ha!

Serious business, Murphy-Bounting had a rough season. But he’s been making his presence known the last few weeks.

Hoping to see it one more time to close out the season.

Never entertain idiots.

Laugh at ‘em and move on.

If your favourite BUCS coverage isn’t talking about the defense, change the damn channel.

Better yet, come on outside for some fresh air.

Perfection.

If you didn’t see it coming, you weren’t paying attention.

Just like Poirier rendering McGregor defenseless.

All the hype was behind what McGregor did in the past and all the eyes that were on him. Poirier has been grinding hard for the last 5 years non-stop.

And even though he took a few tough losses and got set back by injuries, he was still well beyond average.

The organization just didn’t do anything to push him into the limelight.

But if you watched the fights leading into this one and saw what Poirier was bringing in this one that he didn’t have in the last one, you knew how it was likely to go.

If the talk ain’t about what the defense was doing versus Green Bay, then it ain’t real.

It’s filler.

And there’s plenty of that going around.

Carlton Davis talkin’ that $#*&.

Don’t kick a man when he’s down??

Don’t bother a man when he’s standing where you want to be unless you’re asking him how he got there.

EVERYBODY talkin’ that sh*t.

It’s contagious.

A straight up game changer in ALL facets of the defensive line.

Dude was coming in on passing downs rather the being the misclassified “run stuffer” clowns have continued parroting based on his physical stature before they ever watched a minute of game film on him a few weeks before the draft back in 2018.

The young fella took some lumps(read: ass whoopin’) in Round 1 against the Chiefs.

I FULLY expect things to be different in the rematch.

Remember the 1st time he took on Michael Thomas/Drew Brees? Remember the subsequent meetings??

Don’t be surprised to see him hit a front flip in the end zone on a pick-6.

The number of the gods!!!

MIKE GLENNON fans, rejoice!

It still hasn’t hit me yet. Once I make it back into town for Super Bowl week back in the area I called home for 17 years, it’ll settle in.

The last time the Super Bowl was in Tampa, I was working the scene as a stage manager for the NFL Network and CBS Sports.

This time, I’ll be a fan of the HOME TEAM.

“They gonna get ran through in the playoffs…..”

He lives.

The BUCS defense has been slept on most of the season. When they talk about the reasons BUCS aren’t favored in more games, it’s because of the defense and, particularly, the young secondary.

Once again, the defense disproved the rhetoric.

The star of the game knows what it’s all about.

Super or bust.

For the Children.

I was torn between wanting to rematch New Orleans to avenge the Week 9 embarrassment and hoping Drew Brees’ career ended on Nickelodeon buried in slime.

I’m good with watching him ironically pass the torch to JW3 with a 4-INT performance.

It’s crazy how much appreciation players get at various times.

It’s like people don’t pay attention.

The BUCS have always been a defensive Team first and foremost.

Don’t let anything else fool you.

It’s funny because it’s true.

It’s also painful.

Troll or burner account??

And now, it feels like a Buccaneers December.

Every two years around this time, the calls for a coach’s head get louder.

Between Arians and Leftwich, I still look at Arians as the one with the most fault.

It’s his offense.

He has the power to veto offensive play calls.

He should know better than Leftwich.

And If he values giving Leftwich experience more then he does winning football games in this TIGHT window of opportunity a/k/a “Win Now” mode, he needs his @$$ whooped.

Same.

It’s just insane that it’s taken this long.

Since this is the longest period of time the BUCS have gone without a bye week, this may be an epiphany for me and some other fans to realize how the timing of a bye effects the Team.

Screen Shot 2020-12-01 at 10.12.22 PM.png

How bored, blind, or desperate for attention must one be to watch Sunday’s game and this be the big takeaway?!

Check out my podcast this week for a top secret possible hot take on wannabe insiders.

I’ll be recording live at a location that may or may not be the spot where investors are in the beginning stages of thinking about entertaining the idea building a new multiplex in YBOR City OR Downtown Maitland.

I can’t say much here.

But tune in to the pod this week where I’ll probably say much less.

This KILLED me.

And I can’t stand Nick Wright and most things on ESPN.

I lost it when Romo went on about the wrong hot route being run by Evans while Brady still threw the ball in the direction he shouldn’t be going in for some reason.

And fans have parroted Romo’s thoughts to deflect from the Brady’s decision and place the blame completely on Evans. Regardless of Evans possibly running the wrong route, Romo’s focusing on him completely buried his first statement saying it was a bad throw by Brady.

Befuddling.

giphy-4.gif

Ha!

If you’re an 80’s kid or older, you may get it.

I LOATHE the fact that Bowles somehow gets lumped into the absolute underwhelming work of the offensive coaching staff.

Of the 12 games, Bowles’ coaching has been the only constant.

The only thing fans can hand their hats on. It’s been the only thing close to dominant.

Regardless of the terrible decision to play with fire this past Sunday, Bowles can’t be put in the boat as Arians and Leftwich when it comes to the level of incompetency.

It’s not JUST the system.

It’s bad decisions too.

One exacerbates the other.

giphy-3.gif

This hurts.

One of the greatest movies of all time.

One of the most infuriating offenses in recent memory.

One of the worst complaints in recent memory.

The only legit complaint about running the ball is the one that says the BUCS aren’t running it nearly enough.

It doesn’t matter if the BUCS have a tendency to run it on 1st down or not.

If done smartly, that’s just something else that should be to their advantage.

Should be running a play action immediately if defenses assume the run is coming on the first down.

Generally, I’m 100% against tagging players or coaches with this kind of foolishness.

It doesn’t matter how big the frustration gets.

There’s no sense in this kind of lashing out.

Now, for those foolish enough to antagonize fans with lecturing on how to accept wins and/or losses, they get exactly what they ask for.

The attention of other idiots.

Enjoy.

He did pull a Fred Sanford/Scrappy Doo on the sideline after the Pierre-Paul penalty.

giphy-2.gif

They didn’t have to air that shot of Davis, dammit!

That Popeye’s employee is an American Hero, by the way.

My guy had a rough evening.

Can’t hide from that.

It doesn’t take away from his status as one of the best in League this year.

I’ll still put money on Davis every Sunday.

Serious business.

Nobody’s safe from comedy though..

While I tend to point to the QB when he takes a deep shot, the empty backfield on 3rd and 2 is football sin that should be punishable by (name something that causes excruciating pain).

“In the past, we would’ve lost this one….”

Funny enough…very much like JW3.

Given FAR too much credit for keeping them in it because it was mostly the defense.

And his multiple turnovers and multiple missed opportunities down field bit them in the ass.

And that “almost pulled it off” 4th quarter “comeback”.

Weren’t those good times??

Yea.

I cracked the hell up on this one.

I still don’t know who it was.

First guess was Devin Smith.

Simple.

The way this cat sprinted across the field to get this break-up was phenomenal.

The recognition.

The speed..

Whew!

Yea…Lots of fans feel like this.

I’m not one.

The bad habits including slow starts and extended stalling have been routine for the Offense and won’t work in tougher competition.

The Defense missed out on opportunities to end the game before that 2-point conversion attempt. Plays they’ve made before.

Nothing to worry about.

But definitely don’t want to count on luck for a win..

The Brady Effect.

Yep.

Fans were complaining about his play all night.

And expected him to get bailed out on this one.

The 4th and 1 mile conversion may have bought him some good will though.

Ha!! Brady Effect.

Ha!

Somebody’s maaaaaaaaaaaaaad.

Uggggh…

These people exist.

And probably old enough to vote.

The truth.

The whole truth.

Nothing but the truth.

Actually, he had the manual.

May have read the steps wrong though.

Step 1: Play frustratingly inconsistent for 3.75 quarters

Step 2: Miss easy throws down field by bailing out of the pocket. (This suckers in the defense)

Step 3: Throw an unlikely TD to make make people believe you’ve turned the corner.

Step 4: Hope the referees bail you out of bad situation.

Step 5: Allow the defense to keep you in the game.

Some of the best(and WORST) of social media from BUCS players, fans and reporters.

Manning with the inside scoop on the play calling.

Kinda impressive.

Fournette’s been keeping it G since day 1. He hasn’t held back one bit.

While I’ve got strong reservations about seeing McCoy on the field, he’s been helping keep Fournette together off the field.

That’s how it should be amongst teammates on and off the field.

Good to see.

Uh Ohhhhh…..He’s self-aware.

He’s still relatively quiet.

But he’s not pretending he doesn’t know how good he is and how good he could be.

That’s TROUBLE for the League.

THIS is why I was heavily against a “veteran presence” in free agency.

“Veteran Presence” has always translated to a more popular name anyways.

The young cats earned their right to continue learning and prove they can belong.

And they’re doing it.

BIG TIME.

The dream is alive.

If the BUCS make it to the Super Bowl, regardless of the capacity limit in the stadium, I FULLY expect Tampa to be a hotbed of activity from visitors all over.

But that’s a long ways away. Up next…..New York Giants

They can’t all be winners….

This Defense had been held back all last season and even before that.

Todd Bowles deserves a helluva whole lot of credit for his contributions.

I had my concerns about the Defense without Vea.

This game was a pretty decent start to bolstering the hit.

Last week, the BUCS took on an extremely overrated Packers team.

The Raiders had out-offense’d the most potent offense in the League in Kansas City.

Yes.

Yes, this Team is good.

One could argue it was a good Team last year. At least, potent.

But now, the defense is consistently good week in and week out.

And the offense MAY be getting on track.

This Team could be scary good.

Flag On The Post: PostGame Week 4 Edition

Some of the best (and worst) reactions from BUCS players and fans after Week 4's comeback win against the Chargers.

Slow start.

Strong finish.

Not something you want to count on often.

But, good to see that the Team can make it happen.

This may be my favourite sequence of the game.

Helluva game on both sides.

Pretty fair assessment here.

Easily, one of the WORST takes of the day.

The BUCS defense started out slowly for some reason or another. I’m not sure why.

But the offense was far worse by comparison.

I couldn’t have called a 3 TD second half for the offense after seeing the first half and remembering last week’s performance.

But, I had no issues with predicting consecutive stops for the defense.

The defense isn’t “suspect”.

In 1.25 seasons, the defense has an identity.

And it’s the more stable of the two sides of the ball.

Flaws and all.

Straight up.

Not the best day for Devin White on the stat sheet(4 Tackles/1 Solo).

But he and his unit made the difference when the game was getting out of hand.

One big play by Ndamakung Suh turned the game around.

Yep!

Much needed too.

Being able to put a stamp on games is the mark of good defenses.

Not giving up 1st downs due to penalties is next up on the road to becoming a top unit.

Wash.

Rinse.

Repeat.

Bad luck SchlepRick over here f*ckin’ up the church’s money. Sheesh!

Screen Shot 2020-10-05 at 7.27.36 AM.png

The offensive line did a solid job against the the Chargers.

Though, not a full strength, L.A. still had Bosa and Tillery on the defensive line as pass rushing threats.

Wirfs held Bosa at bay all game long and he never let him become a factor.

It’s good to see the unit, as a whole, play as cohesive as it did and not play down to the competition.

Serious business here.

Herbert looked like the kind of talent you could build with and build around.

He didn’t get shook for the majority of the game. A lot of that was likely due to the lack of pressure that was sent by Bowles to start the game.

But, Herbert looked like a threat as both a runner and a passer.

Outside of that INT that sealed the deal which may have been some confusion on the route, he appeared to be a talented game manager and playmaker.

Entering the game, there was a lot of stigma about backup and rookie QBs killing the BUCS throughout history. Herbert definitely had plenty of people holding onto that belief for much of the game.

He was putting the ball on the money and showed off some mean arm strength.

The secondary wasn’t that bad for the most part.

Herbert was actually that good.

Know that.

Yea……This is the kind of rollercoaster I can stomach for a while.

What say you?

Mike Evans MVP

FRANCHISE WR.

That’s it.

Yea…You can see these coming.

Still funny.
