Flag On The Post: Week Of October 4th

One of the biggest offensive weapons ends up on IR for the 3rd time in 4 seasons.

He will be missed.

Especially with all the other injuries piling up.

6 Super Bowl rings or not, I can’t give him a pass for using “then” instead of “than”.

I know autocorrect is a mutha…..

But, get your s#*% together, Brady!!

It’s looking ugly.

On a short week, the BUCS may be without WR1 and WR2 for Thursday’s matchup in Chicago.

It’s an uphill battle.

But the train keeps rolling on.

Awwwwwwww!!!

Awwwwwwwwww daaaaaaaaamn!!!!!!

They’re OUR guys.

But, if you can’t make light of their situations while hoping for the best for them AND looking for the best from them, it’s gonna be a much harder journey than it needs to be.

Brady was, more likely than anything, playing the game. Trying to work the refs.

Wirfs got beat by one of the League’s Top 2 defensive players.

It was a Christian McCaffrey stiff-arm that ignited Devin White’s ascension.

This could be the instance that makes Wirfs a different kind of focused player going forward.

And well, Smith is the whipping boy of EA Sports video game head coaches and virtual draft experts in BUCS fandom.

It was decided he’ll never be a legit left tackle in the League pre-draft.

Every instance of imperfection over the last 5yrs just validates that according to the angst of that crowd.

That and the notion “he just doesn’t look like he cares”.

(whisper) Ahhhhhh…It’s the elusive level-headed BUCS fan living amongst the wild.

Rare in its existence.

Beautiful.

As his counterparts scavenge the lands looking for bits of familiar instantaneous reaction and negative notions to sustain themselves, he remains calm.

Focused.

For he knows he must navigate his was through this wilderness for a minimum of 16 weeks.

He knows the journey is long. Often tiresome.

Repetitive with its challenges.

The ups and the downs.

He is prepared.

Astounding.

Well, sometimes he does tell the truth pretty straight forward.

Sometimes.

Whether it was the self-inflected penalties or the more-than-curious coaching decisions, there were enough issues on the BUCS side of things to focus on instead of the refereeing throughout the game.

Arguably, that 4th and 1 FG to go up 2 points rather than go for the touchdown gave Chicago as much life as the phantom “roughing the passer” call against Barrett.

I hate the former more because the BUCS had total control of that situation.

Going back to Week 3 of last season, I’ve said this defense is one Vita Vea injury from looking completely different.

While many still relegate his importance to just the run game, his presence on passing downs is even more outstanding.

He’s the only player on the defensive line the was routinely in need of being double-teamed by the opposition.

The LBs and the entire secondary ate off of that ability to get pressure up the middle.

Hopefully, Todd Bowles works some magic to make up for this HUGE loss.

IF YOU SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING.
