Game Reviews And You

How many of you go back and re-watch games during and/or after the season?

If you do go back for a 2nd or 3rd viewing, how do you review?

Do you look at the broadcast, the All 22 or the highlights??

Are you looking for confirmation of the things that you think you saw or the things that made you react a certain way?

Do you rely on the game review of others and see if they noticed what you did or have the same thoughts as you?

Do you rely on the grading systems of PFF and/or PFO as part of your confirmation?? If so, how much? Do you use one exclusively or do you cross reference??

I tend to watch the games multiple times.

During the season,I'm usually at the stadium for the home games. I watch the NFL highlights via YouTube when I get home from Tampa. I watch the All 22 on Tuesday. And I wait until Wednesday or Thursday to watch the broadcast view because I think the commentary tends to shift the way people see the games and you only get to see whatever view they have time for. I like to check out how plays actually affected drives rather than how they draw a reaction. I wanna throw sh*t across the living room when the defense gives up a 3rd-and-long like most people, but if if the drive doesn't result in a touchdown, I don't hold a grudge at the end of the game because of it. This is why I look at drive summaries as well as play-by-play summaries via  espn.com.

Other sources:

For the many that like to question how I think the defense actually gave the Team a chance more than given credit for or how I think turnovers cost the Team at least 5 games a season over the last few years, that's how I've come to the conclusion. Can't defend bad plays, but I tend to always end up combatting blanket statements about the defense as well as the offense.

Stats without context kill me. For me, the use of advanced stats without the context and usage of basic stats are even worse.

I'm curious to find out how some other people form their opinions. I like knowing how others gain their perspective.

If you've got different sources of info that shape your opinion which I or others may not have, share. Maybe people can see where you're coming from and hopefully some of the "debate" seen elsewhere turn into actual conversation, where info is both given and received equally.
