Devin White Joins The Jordan Brand Family

It seems like Devin White just continues to see all of his dreams come true. He was drafted Top 5. He’s won a Super Bowl. And now he’s signed an endorsement deal with the Jordan brand.

In an interview with Air.Jordan.com, White explains what it means to be signed by the group.

“Man, it’s surreal. This is something that’s been on my mind for a long time. I share the same birthday as Michael Jordan. Growing up, I was always getting blessed with Jordans; my mom always had me laced. It’s a blessing to be the athlete I am today, knowing the work I put in to get here, to be a part of something so magnificent.”

The young LB has become THE vocal leader of the defense since he arrived in Tampa. While the BUCS have older, more experienced veterans on the roster that speak up, it’s White who has been the loudest and most fierce. His genuine passion for the game is on display every time he speaks. I’ve repeatedly referred to him as the best interview coming out of One Buccaneer Place. Good or bad, he lets you know what’s on his mind.

Funny enough, one of the only other Jordan Brand ambassadors in the Buccaneers’ history was known for doing the exact same thing as well as being a phenom on the field.

Warren Sapp, too, was a Jordan guy. In the above photo, he’s seen wearing the Jordan IX PE during the Super Bowl.

*UPDATED*

Josh Freeman, the former starting QB for the BUCS was signed by the Jordan brand back in 2011. I had forgotten just about anything associated with the mess of a QB. But, seriously…for about 10 Weeks, #5 looked like he was poised to be something big. It just didn’t come to fruition.

Devin says his favourites are the original Jordans and the Jordan X1s. He also says that the cleats he’s looking forward to the most are an iteration of the rare skateboarding shoe that Jordan did for Ben and Jerry’s a while back. Only his will be black and white which would easily look low cow print.

Now, that’s a country boy vibe.
