Captains Of The Krewe

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have named their six team captains for the 2024 season, continuing a tradition of leadership and consistency. Returning captains Mike Evans, Baker Mayfield, Tristan Wirfs, Lavonte David, Vita Vea, and Antoine Winfield Jr. will once again lead the team onto the field.

With a combined 110 seasons of NFL experience, these captains bring a wealth of knowledge and leadership to the Buccaneers. David, the longest-tenured player on the roster, has been a captain for 11 consecutive seasons. Evans, also a veteran captain, has been recognized by his teammates for eight consecutive years.

Mayfield, Wirfs, and Winfield Jr. have quickly established themselves as leaders on the team and all will enter the season as a captain for the second time in Tampa. Mayfield, who has previously worn the "C" in Cleveland and Carolina, joined the Buccaneers last season. Wirfs and Winfield Jr., both drafted by Tampa Bay in 2020, have signed long-term extensions with the team. The two will likely be wearing those patches for the next 4 years or more.

Head Coach Todd Bowles announced the captains during a team meeting, emphasizing the importance of leadership and unity. The Buccaneers will wear their captain patches for the upcoming season, symbolizing their commitment to teamwork and success.
